Lowland Tracker trades one-for-one with the biggest threat on the board every combat — but only if you can keep swinging into open attacks, which a 3/2 first striker for four mana rarely gets to do reliably. Solid in dedicated first-strike or go-wide aggro shells; too slow and fragile for most Commander tables.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
In Commander, Lowland Tracker is a fringe inclusion — the one-for-one trading is real, but four mana for a 3/2 gets outpaced quickly in a format where threats average twice that size. Pauper is its best home: at common, first strike and a repeatable removal-on-combat body is meaningful in a format where small creatures dominate the board. In Legacy and Vintage, Lowland Tracker is technically legal but nowhere near competitive — the bar for four-mana creatures in those formats is set by Emrakul and Uro, not value fighters.

Price Context
Current price
$0.08 bulk tier
At $0.08, Lowland Tracker is deep bulk — the kind of card you pick up from a dollar-bin without thinking. Price stability is a non-issue; it won't rise unless a dedicated first-strike synergy commander breaks out, and none is on the horizon.
