Lost Days card art
Lost Days dumps four cards from the top of your library into your graveyard at instant speed — a four-card mill effect stapled to a cantrip for three mana. Iroh, Grand Lotus is the primary reason to run it, since loading the graveyard with instants and sorceries directly fuels his triggered ability.

Iroh, Grand Lotus rewards you for casting instants and sorceries from the graveyard, and Lost Days does the work of finding them — milling four at instant speed means you're stocking the graveyard on your opponents' end steps and drawing into your next play at the same time.

Format Analysis

Lost Days is legal everywhere but shows up almost exclusively in Commander, where graveyard-value engines make a four-card mill with card draw worth a slot. In competitive one-on-one formats like Modern and Pioneer, three mana to mill yourself four is too slow and too low-impact against a clock. Legacy and Vintage have faster self-mill with more broken payoffs, so Lost Days doesn't compete there either. Commander is the right home: multiplayer games go long enough that stocking the graveyard incrementally compounds, especially under commanders that convert graveyard depth into card advantage or recursion.

Price Context

Current price

$0.18 bulk tier

At $0.18, Lost Days is firmly bulk — no barrier to picking up a copy. Bulk commons and uncommons with niche Commander homes tend to stay at this price floor, so there's no urgency either way.
