Lost Auramancers

Creature — Human Wizard

Vanishing 3 (This creature enters with three time counters on it. At the beginning of your upkeep, remove a time counter from it. When the last is removed, sacrifice it.)
When this creature dies, if it had no time counters on it, you may search your library for an enchantment card, put it onto the battlefield, then shuffle.

Lost Auramancers card art
Lost Auramancers tutors any enchantment directly onto the battlefield — no mana cost, no restrictions — but only when it dies with its last vanishing counter removed, which takes three full turns of doing nothing else. That three-turn clock makes it a liability against any table with interaction, so it earns its slot only in dedicated enchantress or flicker shells that can either speed up the countdown or reset it for repeated use.

Format Analysis

Commander is the only format where Lost Auramancers sees real play, and even there it's a niche include. The three-turn vanishing delay is brutal in faster games, but enchantress commanders — particularly those that flicker or proliferate — can abuse the tutor effect repeatedly, fetching silver-bullet enchantments like Omniscience or Parallax Wave directly into play. In Legacy, Modern, and Vintage it's strictly worse than dedicated enchantment tutors that don't require you to wait three turns and pray, so it never sees competitive play in those formats. Oathbreaker shares Commander's singleton enchantment synergy potential, but the faster clock makes the delay even harder to survive.

Price Context

Current price

$0.19 bulk tier

At $0.19, Lost Auramancers is deep bulk — a penny-bin pickup with essentially no financial floor to fall through. It holds that price because demand is narrow enough that supply always outpaces it, so don't expect movement in either direction.
