Lodestone Needle // Guidestone Compass gives you a color-fixing artifact on the front half and flips into a mana rock — two effects on one card slot, which is the whole argument for running it. Outside of artifact-synergy shells, though, both halves are underpowered compared to dedicated alternatives, and Tetzin, Gnome Champion decks are the primary reason anyone plays it seriously.

In Modern, Pioneer, and Legacy, the competition from dedicated mana fixers and rocks is too steep for a two-phase artifact to earn a slot.
