Lobotomy
Sorcery
Target player reveals their hand, then you choose a card other than a basic land card from it. Search that player's graveyard, hand, and library for all cards with the same name as the chosen card and exile them. Then that player shuffles.

Lobotomy strips a card from hand, graveyard, and library simultaneously — effectively erasing a key piece from the game entirely. Four mana at sorcery speed is a real cost, but no other single card dismantles a combo player's win condition this completely.

In Commander, Lobotomy is a surgical tool against linear decks — yanking all copies of a combo piece from the 99 before it becomes a problem is uniquely powerful in a format where graveyards and libraries both matter. Legacy allows it, but four mana at sorcery speed competes poorly against a format full of free interaction and faster threats, so it sees almost no play there. Vintage is too fast for Lobotomy to matter. Commander is genuinely where this card earns its slot, particularly in control shells or discard-themed lists that can protect it long enough to resolve.
