Llanowar Augur trades itself for +3/+3 and trample on any attacking creature until end of turn — a one-time combat trick stapled to a do-nothing 0/3 body that sat in your hand waiting for the right moment. The cost is real: you're paying one green mana upfront and a card for an effect that only fires once and only matters if you already have an attacker worth pumping.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Llanowar Augur is a fringe card in every format it's legal in, and Commander is where it comes closest to relevance — specifically in go-wide or voltron decks that need a surprise pump on a key attacker to push through lethal damage. Even there, the ceiling is low: you need a creature already declared as an attacker, which telegraphs the trick and lets opponents chump or block around it. In Legacy, Vintage, and Pauper, faster and more repeatable pump options exist at the same mana cost, so Llanowar Augur almost never makes the cut.

Price Context
Current price
$0.15 bulk tier
At $0.15, Llanowar Augur is deep bulk — you're paying for the cardboard, not the effect. There's no meaningful demand driving the price up, so it holds its floor but goes nowhere.
