Lithobraking

Commander is the primary home for Lithobraking — a five-mana sorcery needs the multiplayer card-advantage math to justify the slot, and at a table with three opponents it frequently wipes multiple boards at once while leaving your stuff untouched if you build around it. In 60-card formats like Modern or Pioneer, it's too slow and too conditional; dedicated wraths at three or four mana do the job more reliably, and Lithobraking will rarely see competitive play there. Legacy and Vintage have access to faster, more efficient disruption that makes a five-mana sorcery effectively unplayable in those formats. Standard legality keeps it accessible to newer players building creature-heavy metas, but it competes with cheaper options and will likely remain a casual roleplayer outside Commander.
