Leyline Invocation card art
Leyline Invocation drops a token onto the battlefield with power and toughness equal to your number of lands — in a land-heavy Commander deck, that's routinely a 10/10 or larger for six mana. The cost is steep and the payoff is a vanilla creature, so it only earns its slot when you're either cheating it into play or winning on that turn.

Format Analysis

In Commander, Leyline Invocation is a late-game payoff for landfall and land-ramp decks — the 99-card format gives you the room to hit the land counts that make the token genuinely threatening. In Pauper it's a common, but a six-mana sorcery that produces a single vanilla creature struggles to compete with the format's efficient threats. Modern and Pioneer have faster clocks and more interaction at sorcery speed, so Leyline Invocation rarely survives long enough to matter in those formats. Legacy and Vintage can technically cast it, but neither format is hunting for slow, fair token production at six mana.

Price Context

Current price

$0.17 bulk tier

At $0.17, Leyline Invocation is pure bulk — you're paying nearly nothing for a niche payoff card. That price is stable by nature; bulk rares don't move unless a combo or metagame shift puts them in demand, and nothing on the horizon suggests that here.
