Leonin Sun Standard pumps your entire team +1/+1 until end of turn for 2W — repeatable, instant-speed, and devastating in token-wide combat math. The problem is that four mana to activate is a lot to hold up every swing, so it earns its slot only in decks that can flood the board and actually use the full spread.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Leonin Sun Standard sees essentially zero competitive play in Legacy, Modern, or Vintage — formats where four mana per activation is simply too slow for what you get. Commander is the only home where it makes sense: go-wide white strategies, especially token builds, can make the pump backbreaking in a multiplayer combat step where opponents can't predict whether you're holding the activation. It's a reasonable include in dedicated wide-board decks and a clear cut everywhere else.

Price Context
Current price
$0.33 bulk tier
At $0.33, Leonin Sun Standard sits firmly in bulk territory and is unlikely to climb without a reprint-driven spike in a go-wide archetype. It's a safe pickup if you want the effect — you're not overpaying — but don't expect the price to move.
