Leonin Bola card art
Leonin Bola gives you a repeatable tap effect stapled to any creature you control for just one mana to equip and one mana to activate — cheap enough that it pulls real weight in strategies that want to tap creatures multiple times per turn. The ceiling is high in the right shell; everywhere else, it's a fringe inclusion at best.

Format Analysis

Leonin Bola sees essentially zero play in competitive formats — Legacy, Vintage, and Modern have faster, more impactful ways to spend one mana, and a tap effect simply doesn't threaten anything in those environments. Pauper is the one non-Commander format where it has theoretical relevance, particularly in tap-synergy or Inspired strategies, though even there it rarely makes cuts. Commander is where Leonin Bola actually finds a home: tap-value commanders like Derevi, Empyrial Tactician or Tapdown-combo commanders like Merieke Ri Berit get genuine mileage from an equipment that converts any attacking creature into a tap outlet. Outside of those dedicated shells, it's too narrow to justify a slot.
