Lead the Stampede reads your top five cards and puts every creature among them into your hand — in a creature-dense deck, that's routinely two or three cards for three mana at sorcery speed. It's one of green's most efficient mass-refill spells, and the floor is still a one-for-one in any deck running 30+ creatures.

Commander is where Lead the Stampede earns its reputation — token and tribal decks running 35 or more creatures regularly net two to four cards off a single cast, making it competitive with much more expensive draw spells. In Pauper it's a staple in green creature shells, particularly Elves, where the commons-only card pool makes bulk refill at common rarity genuinely hard to replace. Modern and Pioneer have access to stronger options at the same cost, so Lead the Stampede rarely makes those cuts outside dedicated creature-combo lists that prize redundancy. Legacy and Vintage have no use for it; the formats move too fast and offer too many alternatives.

Price Context

$0.35 bulk tier
At $0.35, Lead the Stampede is deep bulk — one of the best card-advantage spells per dollar in Commander. Casual demand keeps a floor under it, but there's no pressure driving the price higher; pick up copies freely without concern for price volatility.
