Lawless Broker hits the table as a 3/2 with menace and immediately replaces itself with a card draw trigger on your next end step — three mana for a body that replaces itself is a functional floor most aggressive black decks are happy to accept. The cost is the discard: you pitch a card on that same end step, so the net hand size is neutral, not positive.
Format Analysis

In Commander, Lawless Broker is a role-player in discard-synergy shells — Anje Falkenrath, Xander, or Tinybones lists — where the end-step discard is a feature rather than a cost. Outside those synergy homes it's too fair to earn a slot in a 100-card singleton format where competition at three mana is steep. In Pauper it's a common with a clean floor: menace makes it annoying to block, and the looting effect has real value in graveyard-adjacent strategies. Legacy and Vintage have no interest — the rate is irrelevant at those power levels. Modern and Pioneer could theoretically slot it into aggressive discard strategies, but better three-drops exist at common and uncommon in both formats.

Current price
$0.06 bulk tier
At $0.06, Lawless Broker is pure bulk — you're paying for cardboard and postage, not the card. Bulk commons don't appreciate, so buy it when you need it and don't think twice about the price.
