Landbind Ritual gains you 2 life per land you control — in a 40-life format with a full board, that's 20–30 life from a single spell. The cost is that it does nothing else: no card, no permanents, no pressure on opponents.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Commander is the only format where Landbind Ritual is worth discussing — nowhere else do you reliably have 15+ lands in play, and nowhere else does a 40-life total make a burst of 30 life marginally relevant. Even in Commander, it's a fringe card: lifegain payoff commanders like Oloro, Ageless Ascetic or Lathiel, the Bounteous Dawn can use the trigger count, but a sorcery that doesn't advance the board competes poorly against repeatable lifegain on creatures or enchantments. In Legacy and Vintage it's legal but unplayable — the life total starts at 20 and lands in play rarely justify the slot.

Price Context
Current price
$0.11 bulk tier
At $0.11, Landbind Ritual is pure bulk — the price reflects demand, which is low. It won't appreciate; the card is too narrow to pull consistent interest from any format.
