Lady of Laughter turns every creature you cast into a draw trigger — the card-advantage engine is live the moment she hits the table. Three mana for that effect is an aggressive rate, and the only cost is keeping a 2/2 alive long enough to matter.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | legal |
| standard | legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Commander is where Lady of Laughter does her real work — go-wide and token strategies flood the board with creatures every turn, and she converts that volume into card advantage that compounds fast. In 1v1 formats like Pioneer or Modern she's too slow and too fragile; a 2/2 for three that requires board presence to draw cards doesn't survive contact with efficient interaction. Legacy and Vintage have better draw engines at lower costs, so she doesn't compete there. Oathbreaker is a reasonable home if your planeswalker supports a creature-dense strategy, but Commander is the only format where her ceiling is genuinely high.

Price Context
Current price
$0.27 bulk tier
At $0.27, Lady of Laughter is firmly bulk — pick her up without thinking twice. Bulk enchantments with repeatable draw effects tend to stay cheap unless a Commander product pushes them into the spotlight, so don't expect the price to move.
