Knight of Valor puts a 3/3 with first strike on the board for four mana and staples a pump-and-vigilance ability on top — it's doing real work in creature combat. The rate is unspectacular by Commander standards, but in lower-power Knight tribal or aggressive white builds it earns its slot.

Knight of Valor is a bulk common, and that shows most clearly in Commander, where a four-mana 3/3 faces stiff competition even before you account for the activated ability's cost. In Knight tribal builds — Syr Gwyn, Hero of Ashvale being the clearest home — the first strike and in-combat pump have actual relevance, but outside tribal synergy it rarely makes the cut. Pauper is where Knight of Valor is most at home: the stats are passable at common, first strike matters in a creature-heavy format, and the vigilance granted by the activated ability punches above its weight in a tempo game.

Price Context
Current price
$0.13 bulk tier
At $0.13, Knight of Valor is deep bulk — you're picking it out of a commons box, not paying for it deliberately. There's no financial upside here; it's a card you run because it fits the slot, not because it holds or gains value.
