Knight of Sursi puts a 2/2 flanking body with suspend into play for two mana — but the actual play pattern is suspending it for one white mana and getting it three turns later. It's a fine budget beater in Knight tribal or suspend-matters builds and not worth a second thought anywhere else.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Knight of Sursi sees essentially zero competitive play across formats despite being legal in Legacy, Modern, Vintage, and Pauper — a 2/2 flanker for two mana is just below the curve in 2025, and the suspend mode doesn't accelerate anything meaningful. Pauper is the one format where flanking creatures have occasionally seen fringe use in white aggro, but Knight of Sursi doesn't crack those lists either. In Commander, it fits narrowly into Syr Gwyn, Hero of Ashvale Knight tribal builds or a Jhoira of the Ghitu suspend theme, and only then as a budget filler.

Price Context
Current price
$0.10 bulk tier
At $0.10, Knight of Sursi is deep bulk — you're not paying for this card, you're finding it in a common box. That price isn't going anywhere; there's no competitive demand and never will be.
