Kithkin Shielddare is a fringe option at best across every format it's legal in. In Commander, combat tricks are generally weak because they're reactive, single-target, and card-negative — you'd rather run permanent pump or protection that doesn't spend a card to save one. In Pauper, where white weenie and go-wide aggro strategies actually care about combat math, it's marginally more interesting, but two mana is still a lot to ask for a non-permanent effect. Legacy and Vintage have zero interest in this effect at any cost. If Kithkin Shielddare has a home, it's limited formats — not constructed ones.
