Kin-Tree Warden card art
Kin-Tree Warden is a one-mana 1/1 with a regeneration ability that costs one green mana — unremarkable on its own, but it becomes a loop engine the moment Yedora, Grave Gardener is in play. Yedora turns every nontoken creature dying into a Forest entering the battlefield, and Kin-Tree Warden's regeneration shields it from dying in the first place — making it the glue that keeps sacrifice loops intact without burning through your graveyard.

Yedora, Grave Gardener

18.4% of decks · synergy 0.18

Yedora, Grave Gardener turns creature deaths into land drops, and Kin-Tree Warden's regeneration lets it survive sacrifice outlets repeatedly — that combination forms the core of Yedora's most common infinite loops, which is why nearly one in five Yedora decks runs it.

Kin-Tree Warden is legal in Commander, Legacy, Modern, Pioneer, Pauper, Vintage, and Oathbreaker. In Commander, the only format where it consistently earns a slot, it's a combo piece first and a creature second — its regeneration ability is the mechanism that enables repeatable sacrifice loops with Yedora, Grave Gardener. In Pauper it's technically playable at common, but there's no shell that wants a regenerating 1/1 for one mana with no enters-the-battlefield effect. In every other format, Kin-Tree Warden is simply outclassed — Modern and Pioneer have no use for a creature this low-impact outside of a dedicated combo, and no dedicated combo exists there.

Price Context

Current price

$0.02 bulk tier

At $0.02, Kin-Tree Warden is deep bulk — you'll find it in commons boxes or pick up a playset for the cost of a sleeve. Despite being a genuine combo piece in Yedora, Grave Gardener decks, the narrow demand keeps the price pinned to the floor and there's no realistic pressure to move it off bulk.
