Keeper of the Lens is a 1/2 colorless artifact creature for one mana that lets you look at face-down creatures your opponents control — a niche effect that almost never matters in Commander. The body is too small to block meaningfully, and the ability only punishes morph or manifest strategies, making it a sideboard card for a format with no sideboard.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Keeper of the Lens is legal in every relevant format but sees essentially no competitive play in any of them. In Commander, where morph and manifest strategies occasionally appear — think Kadena, Slinking Sorcerer or manifest-heavy Azorius blink shells — Keeper of the Lens offers passive information, but a 1/2 body for one mana doesn't justify a slot when removal and ramp are more urgent. In Pauper, where every mana and body is scrutinized, the effect is too narrow to include outside a dedicated morph-hate build that doesn't exist in the meta. Legacy and Vintage have no interest in it.

$0.07 bulk tier
At $0.07, Keeper of the Lens is deep bulk — you'll find it in any common box for less than the cost of a sleeve. It won't appreciate; the effect is too narrow to drive demand in any format.
