Keeneye Aven is a five-mana 2/2 flier that lets you scry 2 whenever it deals combat damage to a player — a rate so underwhelming that it rarely earns a slot over cheaper, more impactful options. The body is too fragile to reliably connect, and scry 2 is simply not worth five mana in a format where draw engines do far more for less.

Keeneye Aven is legal in Commander, Legacy, Vintage, Pauper, and Oathbreaker, but it sees virtually no play in any of them. In Commander, the combination of a five-mana investment and a damage-trigger payoff that only produces scry 2 is too inefficient — there are dozens of blue fliers at the same cost that draw cards outright rather than filtering. In Pauper, where commons compete fiercely on rate, the body is too small and the trigger too conditional to make the cut. Legacy and Vintage don't want Keeneye Aven at any mana cost.
