Kabuto Moth lets you tap it to pump a creature's toughness and shrink an attacker or blocker on the fly, giving you real combat control without spending a card. Three mana for a 1/1 flier that never actually attacks is a steep ask in most powered metas.
Format Analysis

Kabuto Moth is a Pauper-legal card, and that's the only format where it sees any real consideration — white weenie and stall-based decks occasionally use the activated ability to swing combat math in their favor. In Commander, the cost is prohibitive: a 1/1 that taps for a temporary toughness shift does almost nothing at a table where threats come in multiples and games end on board states, not single blocked swings. Legacy and Vintage have zero interest in Kabuto Moth when the same slot can hold a spell that wins the game outright.

Price Context
Current price
$0.09 bulk tier
At $0.09, Kabuto Moth is deep bulk — you're more likely to find it in a bulk bin than paying shipping for it. That price reflects demand accurately and isn't going anywhere.
