Juri, Master of the Revue turns every sacrifice into a loaded cannon — each permanent you feed the table grows Juri by one +1/+1 counter, and when she dies she deals that much damage to any target, making her a repeatable ping-to-face threat with no extra investment. The cost is that she demands a critical mass of cheap fodder and sac outlets to pay off consistently, but shells like Evereth, Viceroy of Plunder that are already generating treasure and creature tokens make that trivial — and Animation Module can push her counter count into lethal range before opponents see it coming.
Best Commanders
Commanders with the highest synergy

Evereth, Viceroy of Plunder
Evereth, Viceroy of Plunder generates exactly the kind of recurring token and treasure fodder that Juri, Master of the Revue needs to grow fast and die large — 65% of Evereth decks include her, making this the highest-synergy pairing by a significant margin.

Silvar, Devourer of the Free // Trynn, Champion of Freedom
Trynn's steady stream of Human tokens gives Silvar a sacrifice engine, and Juri, Master of the Revue slots in as a second drain threat — every token fed to Silvar is also a counter on Juri waiting to convert into damage on death.

The Balrog, Durin's Bane
The Balrog, Durin's Bane wants a board of expendable creatures to exile for value, and Juri, Master of the Revue transforms each of those sacrificed creatures into a point of guaranteed damage, adding a burn angle to a deck already planning to run its own creatures through the grinder.

Marchesa, the Black Rose
Marchesa, the Black Rose and Juri, Master of the Revue share a beautiful loop — Juri enters with counters from prior sacrifices, dies for value, and Marchesa brings her back at end of turn ready to accumulate again.

Szarel, Genesis Shepherd
Szarel, Genesis Shepherd fills the graveyard and repeatedly recycles creatures back into play, giving Juri, Master of the Revue a revolving door of sacrifice targets that keeps her counter stack climbing through every iteration.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Commander is where Juri, Master of the Revue genuinely shines — a two-mana commander who closes games from the command zone is rare, and sacrifice-heavy Rakdos shells have enough redundancy to make her lethal fast. In Legacy and Vintage she's technically legal but competes with vastly more efficient threats and combo pieces, so she sees essentially no play there. Oathbreaker is the one non-Commander format where her rate is legitimately interesting, since the lower starting life total and reduced card-count push efficient two-drops up in value.

At $0.29, Juri, Master of the Revue is pure bulk — easy to pick up as a four-of or a commander without thinking twice about the price. Bulk rares with consistent Commander demand tend to stay in this range rather than spike, so grab copies whenever you need them and don't expect the price to move meaningfully in either direction.
