Ivory Giant taps all nonwhite creatures your opponents control — effectively a one-sided Fog stapled to a 4/4 body — but the seven mana and near-mandatory suspend make it a narrow card that earns its slot only in dedicated white-token or suspend strategies. Outside those shells, a cheaper mass-tap effect almost always exists.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
In Commander, Ivory Giant is a role-player rather than a staple — the suspend cost makes it a free haymaker in the early game, but paying seven mana for the same effect feels slow by the time late game arrives, so the card rewards decks that can reliably suspend it on turn one or two. Pauper is the format where Ivory Giant gets the most serious looks, since the power ceiling at common rarity is low enough that a free one-sided tap effect is genuinely threatening in white weenie or cycling shells. Legacy and Vintage give it technical legality but zero competitive relevance; the effect doesn't approach what those formats demand at any mana cost. Modern has long since outpaced it, and Pioneer and Standard don't apply.

Price Context
Current price
$0.05 bulk tier
At $0.05, Ivory Giant is deep bulk — this is a card you pull from a common box, not a purchase you make. The price reflects real demand floors; it won't drop further, but there's no pressure driving it up either.
