Isareth the Awakener turns every attack into a reanimation trigger — creatures she brings back enter with a corpse counter, and they exile permanently if they'd leave the battlefield, which is the real price you pay for recurring power on a 3/3 deathtouch body. Run her when your deck wants to loop expensive creatures on the cheap; avoid her when your value creatures need to stick around for sacrifice synergies.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |

| modern | legal |
| pioneer | legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
In Commander, Isareth the Awakener is a niche but functional value engine in mono-black or black-heavy decks that want repeatable recursion without dedicating spell slots to it — she does real work in aristocrats shells where the corpse-counter exile clause matters less than the ETB triggers you're harvesting. In Legacy and Vintage, she's too slow and fragile for those formats' threat density; a 3/3 for three with a conditional upside doesn't compete with what those formats are doing on turns one and two. Modern and Pioneer offer slightly more hospitable midrange environments, but she still competes against more efficient recursive threats and sees essentially zero competitive play in either. Oathbreaker is her friendliest non-Commander home, where a black-aligned signature spell and lower life totals let her attack trigger fire more reliably.

Price Context
Current price
$0.20 bulk tier
At $0.20, Isareth the Awakener is firmly bulk — a throwaway pickup that costs less than a sleeve. That price is stable floor territory; there's no meaningful reprint risk or demand spike that would move a card with this narrow a competitive footprint.
