Irrigation Ditch card art
Irrigation Ditch enters tapped and produces one blue or white mana — the full definition of a do-nothing land that costs you a tempo hit the turn you play it. There is almost no Commander deck that should run Irrigation Ditch over a basic Island or Plains.

Format Analysis

Irrigation Ditch is legal in Commander, Legacy, Vintage, Pauper, and Oathbreaker, but legality and playability are different things. In Commander, the 100-card singleton format demands every land slot justify itself, and a tapped dual that only covers two colors fails that bar immediately — fetchable duals, shock lands, and even Azorius Guildgate do the same job with upside. Pauper is the one context where the card pool is restricted enough that Irrigation Ditch sees occasional fringe play as a budget fixer in two-color lists, though even there it competes poorly against other common-rarity options. In Legacy and Vintage, it simply doesn't exist as a consideration.

Price Context

Current price

$0.17 bulk tier

At $0.17, Irrigation Ditch is deep bulk — you can pick up a playset for less than a dollar, which reflects exactly what the market thinks of it. The price is stable because demand is near zero, not because it's an undiscovered gem.
