Invasive Surgery
Instant
Counter target sorcery spell.
Delirium — If there are four or more card types among cards in your graveyard, search the graveyard, hand, and library of that spell's controller for any number of cards with the same name as that spell, exile those cards, then that player shuffles.

Invasive Surgery counters a sorcery for one blue mana — and if you have delirium active, it wipes every copy of that spell from the game, graveyard included. That clause is niche but backbreaking against storm, cascade, or any deck leaning on recursion loops.

In Commander, Invasive Surgery earns its slot in blue spell-slinging or graveyard-hate builds where one mana is the difference between passing open and tapping out. The delirium rider is easier to satisfy than it looks in decks running fetches, self-mill, or sacrifice outlets, and stripping a spell from a graveyard mid-combo can end a game on the spot. In Legacy and Vintage the competition is brutal — Force of Will and Flusterstorm exist — so Invasive Surgery rarely makes the cut outside budget builds or very targeted sorcery-heavy metas. Modern and Pioneer treat it as a fringe sideboard option against Tibalt's Trickery-style decks or reanimation packages, but dedicated hate pieces usually do more work for the same mana.
