Interdict counters an activated ability and draws you a card — two meaningful effects stapled onto a single blue mana. The catch is scope: it only hits activated abilities, leaving triggered and static abilities untouched, which keeps it situationally narrow.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t

In Commander, Interdict occupies a tight niche — it shines hardest when an opponent's activated ability is the primary threat on board, like a Birthing Pod activation or a planeswalker tick-down you can't otherwise answer. The cantrip means the card replaces itself, so the cost of including it is low, but the ceiling is also low in metas where activated abilities aren't the primary problem. Legacy and Vintage are the only other formats where it's legal, and in those formats faster and more flexible interaction crowds it out of most lists.

Price Context
Current price
$0.35 bulk tier
At $0.35, Interdict is firmly bulk — low enough that the financial barrier to testing it is nonexistent. Don't expect that price to move; the card's narrow application keeps demand flat.
