In Commander, Ideas Unbound is a role-player, not a staple — outside of Obeka, Brute Chronologist or other end-step-skipping shells, the discard clause makes it a worse Concentrate in most lists. In Pauper it competes in tempo and storm-adjacent strategies where the discard is a real cost you plan around rather than dodge, and blue has better common draw options for most builds. Legacy and Vintage have access to far more powerful cantrips and draw spells, so Ideas Unbound doesn't register in those formats. The card has a narrow best home and performs excellently there.
