Hymn of Rebirth puts a creature from any graveyard directly onto the battlefield under your control — a reanimation effect that ignores color identity and reaches into opponents' yards. The cost is five mana across two colors, which is slow but not disqualifying in Commander.

Commander is where Hymn of Rebirth earns its slot: five-mana sorceries are acceptable, three opponents mean three graveyards to raid, and stealing a Blightsteel Colossus or Elesh Norn someone else paid to kill is a real game-swing. In Legacy and Vintage it's essentially unplayable — five mana at sorcery speed competes against formats that end games on turn two or three, and dedicated reanimation there costs one or two mana. Oathbreaker shares Commander's slower clock, so Hymn of Rebirth can function there in the right shell.
