In Commander, Hundred-Talon Strike is a niche combat trick — the single-target mode is too low-impact for a 100-card singleton format, but the entwined version earns consideration in token-wide aggro builds that close games through combat. Pauper is where this card has the most structural relevance, since efficient combat tricks at common are real currency and the entwine cost is achievable in a focused aggressive deck. In Legacy, Modern, and Vintage the card is legal but completely outclassed — those formats move too fast for a sorcery-speed-adjacent trick that costs this much mana for the full effect.
