Human Frailty kills exactly one creature type — Human — for a single black mana, which is an absurdly efficient rate when it hits. Outside a meta dense with Human creatures, though, it's a dead card in hand, and that conditional makes it unplayable in most lists.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Human Frailty is legal in Commander, Legacy, Modern, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, but sees almost no play in any of them. In Commander, the 100-card singleton format exposes the core problem: you can't count on your opponents running Humans, and a removal spell that blanks against half the table is below the bar. In Legacy and Modern, dedicated Human tribal decks do exist on the other side of the table, but one-mana spot removal in those formats competes with Fatal Push and Path to Exile — cards without a creature-type restriction. The only context where Human Frailty earns genuine consideration is a format with a known Human-heavy metagame, and even then, the competition is stiff.

$0.07 bulk tier
At $0.07, Human Frailty is deep bulk — you're essentially paying for the cardboard. That price won't move without a sudden surge in competitive Human tribal play, which isn't on the horizon.
