Honored Hierarch card art
Honored Hierarch is a one-mana mana dork that taps for any color — but only after it's attacked and connected, which makes it conditional in a way most ramp creatures aren't. In aggressive creature decks that reliably swing early, that condition barely matters; in slower or controlling shells, it never reliably turns on.

In Commander, Honored Hierarch slots into go-wide aggro decks — token strategies, Elf or Human tribal, anything that attacks early and often — where renown triggers on turn two without much effort. Outside those shells, it competes poorly against unconditional one-mana ramp like Elvish Mystic and Llanowar Elves, which don't ask you to connect before they pay off. In Modern and Pioneer it's too slow and too fragile to see meaningful play; neither format wants a mana creature that doesn't produce mana the turn it enters. Legacy and Vintage have access to far more powerful one-drops, so Honored Hierarch doesn't register there either.

Price data for Honored Hierarch isn't currently available in this listing, so check Scryfall or TCGPlayer for a live number. It's a bulk rare by reputation — a narrow, conditionally useful card that sees fringe Commander play at most — so don't expect to pay more than a dollar or two.
