Hisoka's Guard card art
Hisoka's Guard trades itself to give target Wizard hexproof until end of turn — the effect is real but the cost is not: spending a card and a creature to protect one creature for one turn is a poor exchange in any format. Run a counterspell or a permanent hexproof grant instead.

Hisoka's Guard is legal in Commander, Legacy, Modern, Vintage, Pauper, and Oathbreaker, but seeing meaningful play in none of them. In Commander, the only plausible home is a Wizard tribal deck where the creature type matters, but even there the sorcery-speed protection is nearly useless — threats resolve, removal resolves, and sacrificing a body to blank one spell rarely changes the outcome. In Pauper and Legacy, instant-speed interaction and counterspells simply do the job better without costing you a permanent.

Price Context

Current price

$0.12 bulk tier

At $0.12, Hisoka's Guard is deep bulk — you'll find it in a common box, not a trade binder. Demand is low enough that this price is likely a ceiling, not a floor.
