In Commander, Hinterland Logger // Timber Shredder slots cleanly into Werewolf tribal helmed by Tovolar, Dire Overlord — the flip synergy is native to the theme and Tovolar actively rewards the night transition. Outside that tribe, a vanilla 2/1 with conditional upside doesn't compete for the 99. In Pauper, the common designation makes it a legitimate early-game body in aggressive green builds, though the daybound/nightbound dependency is harder to control in a two-player format where your opponent's turn matters just as much as yours. Modern and Pioneer have enough redundancy in the werewolf package that Logger earns consideration as curve-filler in dedicated builds, but rarely makes the final cut over higher-impact two-drops.
