Hill Gigas is a 5/3 for five mana with no evasion, no enters-the-battlefield effect, and no upside beyond its body. Vanilla creatures at this rate have been unplayable in competitive formats for years, and Hill Gigas does nothing to change that calculus.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t

Hill Gigas is legal everywhere but has no meaningful role in any format. In Commander, a 5/3 vanilla for five mana competes against a card pool full of five-drops that draw cards, generate tokens, or close games on their own — Hill Gigas does none of that. In Pauper, the format where commons get their best shot, aggressive red decks want their five-drop slot to either end the game or generate card advantage, and Hill Gigas offers neither. Legacy, Modern, and Pioneer don't register it at all. The card is a historical artifact of an era before power creep made vanilla beaters obsolete.

Price Context
Current price
$0.09 bulk tier
At $0.09, Hill Gigas is deep bulk — the kind of card that sits in a common box at a price that mostly reflects handling cost. There is no pressure on that price to move in either direction; demand is effectively zero outside of set collectors.
