High-Flying Ace is a two-mana 2/2 flyer that counters itself on entry and grows whenever you cast or copy an instant or sorcery — a reasonable rate for spell-heavy decks that want an early air threat. The ceiling is real in spellslinger builds; everywhere else it's filler.
Format Analysis

In Commander, High-Flying Ace slots cleanly into Izzet or Jeskai spellslinger decks where every instant and sorcery doubles as a pump trigger — the flying evasion matters when you're trying to convert a turn-5 storm into lethal. In competitive 1v1 formats like Modern and Pioneer, a 2/2 that needs spell support to grow above rate is too slow and too dependent on the board surviving; there are simply stronger payoffs at the same cost. Pauper is where High-Flying Ace deserves a second look, since evasive two-drops that self-protect and scale are genuinely scarce at common. Standard and Legacy bracket it on opposite ends — playable filler in Standard spells decks, invisible in Legacy.

$0.08 bulk tier
At $0.08, High-Flying Ace is deep bulk — pick up as many as you need without thinking about it. Bulk commons at this price point don't appreciate unless they break into a competitive format, and that's not happening here.
