Hew the Entwood hits every artifact and enchantment your opponents control for a single Forest tap — the board impact is enormous for the cost. Seven mana on top of the Forest requirement is steep, but erasing a table's worth of Thran Dynamos and Smothering Tithes in one shot earns that price.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t

Commander is where Hew the Entwood belongs — multiplayer tables mean three or four opponents' artifacts and enchantments in the blast radius, which makes the seven-mana investment genuinely favorable. In Legacy and Vintage it's a non-starter; those formats move too fast for a sorcery-speed seven-drop that requires a specific land type. Oathbreaker sits closer to Commander in pace and density, so a Forest-heavy green shell could find it serviceable, but the singleton constraint and smaller starting life totals shrink the margin.

Price Context
Current price
$4.63 cheap tier
At $4.63, Hew the Entwood sits at the top of the budget-rare tier — expensive enough to feel like a real purchase, cheap enough to slot in without a second thought. It's a niche card with a clear home, so the price should stay flat rather than spike unless a high-profile Forest-matters commander gets printed.
