In Commander, Heroic Charge earns its slot in any token or go-wide strategy as a surprise combat finisher — the instant speed is what separates it from sorcery-speed pump spells, letting you hold mana open and commit only when the kill is confirmed. In Pauper, the card is legal and the effect is real, but combat tricks at common compete in a crowded field and the format's best aggressive strategies often want redundancy over one-shot impact. Legacy, Vintage, Modern, and Pioneer are all legal formats, but Heroic Charge is not a card those formats want — the effect is too narrow and the power ceiling too low for environments where a single card needs to do more. The sweet spot is Commander, full stop.
