Henge Guardian is a 5/6 trampling body with reach that also reduces the cost of your next artifact spell by two — solid stats and immediate economic value on a single card. Five mana for that package is fair, not exciting, but in artifact-heavy Commander shells it earns its slot.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |

| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Henge Guardian is a Commander card through and through — the artifact cost reduction is most meaningful in a 100-card singleton format where you're building around a specific artifact theme and every mana discount accelerates your gameplan. In Legacy and Vintage, it's technically legal but nowhere near competitive; a 5/5 mana investment for a one-time discount and a beater doesn't survive contact with those formats' threat density. Outside Commander and Oathbreaker, Henge Guardian simply doesn't exist in meaningful play.

Price Context
Current price
$0.22 bulk tier
At $0.22, Henge Guardian is deep bulk — you're paying for cardboard and nothing else. Bulk rares rarely appreciate unless they land in a popular precon or get a competitive breakout, and nothing about Henge Guardian's design points toward either.
