Heavenly Qilin gives every creature you control flying for as long as it's on the battlefield — a blanket evasion grant on a 4/4 body for five mana. The cost is real, but the payoff is a board that suddenly can't be chump-blocked.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
In Commander, Heavenly Qilin slots cleanly into go-wide token strategies that want to turn a ground stall into a lethal swing — white and green shells in particular benefit from the blanket flying since they often flood the board without natural evasion. Pauper is the other format where Heavenly Qilin is legal and could see fringe play in a dedicated Spirit synergy deck, though five mana is a steep ask at that power level. Legacy and Vintage are legal homes on paper, but five mana for a non-combo piece with no immediate effect on the stack is nowhere near the rate those formats demand.

Price Context
Current price
$0.11 bulk tier
At $0.11, Heavenly Qilin is deep bulk — easy to pick up as a throw-in or cheap single. Bulk rares with narrow applications rarely climb unless a breakout Commander deck pushes demand, so don't expect the price to move.
