Heated Argument card art
Heated Argument deals 2 damage to each opponent — at sorcery speed, for two mana, with no upside stapled on. Playable only in dedicated damage-ping strategies where every opponent taking 2 matters; everywhere else it's outclassed by spells that also answer a threat.

In Commander, Heated Argument punches above its weight purely because there are three opponents — six total damage for two mana is a reasonable rate in burn-focused decks built around Firesong and Sunspeaker or Vial Smasher the Fierce. Outside of those shells, the sorcery speed and lack of flexibility make it hard to justify a slot. In 1v1 formats like Modern, Pioneer, and Legacy, dealing 2 to a single opponent for two mana is well below the curve — Lightning Bolt and its cousins make Heated Argument unplayable in any competitive context. Pauper is the one fringe exception where budget burn lists might consider it, but even there the card sees essentially no play.

$0.05 bulk tier

At $0.05, Heated Argument is deep bulk — the kind of card you pull from a common box rather than buy. That price is stable by definition; there's no demand pressure to push it anywhere.
