Heart-Piercer Bow turns every attack into a free Shock — each equipped creature pings a creature when it attacks, which is how you whittle down utility creatures and force unfavorable blocks without spending a card. Two mana to equip each time is the tax that keeps this from being an auto-include, but in go-wide and token decks that attack repeatedly, the repeated damage adds up fast.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Heart-Piercer Bow is a Commander card through and through — the effect is too slow and too low-impact for competitive formats like Legacy or Vintage, where games end before the equip cost pays off. In Modern and Pioneer it's simply outclassed by removal spells that don't require a creature to attack. Pauper is the one non-Commander format worth mentioning, where the card is legal and creature-based aggro can extract real value from repeated 1-damage triggers. In Commander, Heart-Piercer Bow earns its slot in decks that attack with many creatures repeatedly — token strategies under commanders like Krenko, Mob Boss or wide-board attackers where the bow taxes blockers and picks off mana dorks turn after turn.

Price Context
Current price
$0.06 bulk tier
At $0.06, Heart-Piercer Bow is deep bulk — you're not buying this for value, you're buying it because it costs nothing. At that price there's no reason to hesitate if the effect fits your deck, and no reason to expect the price to mean anything either way.
