Heap Doll is a one-mana artifact creature that exiles a single card from a graveyard when it dies — narrow enough that it rarely justifies a mainboard slot over instant-speed graveyard hate. The sacrifice trigger has real upside in artifact or sacrifice synergy decks, but the effect is too small to pull weight on its own.

In Commander, Heap Doll occupies the fringe of graveyard-hate options — the effect is real, but one-card exile on a death trigger is too slow and too small when Relic of Progenitus and Soul-Guide Lantern exist at the same price point. Legacy and Vintage don't want it either; those formats demand faster, more sweeping graveyard interaction than Heap Doll provides. Modern has better options across the board. The strongest case for Heap Doll is in artifact-matters or sacrifice Commander shells where the body counts toward a synergy payoff and the exile effect is a free bonus rather than the reason you're running it.

Price Context
Current price
$0.37 bulk tier
At $0.37, Heap Doll is deep bulk — you're not paying for the graveyard effect, you're paying for a warm artifact body. Price stability is likely given it sees minimal competitive demand, so don't expect movement in either direction.
