Hackrobat gives you a deathtouch-plus-lifelink switch on a 3/2 body — paying one mana to flip between offensive and defensive modes is real utility on a three-drop. It's not a powerhouse, but in Rakdos decks that want incremental value from combat, Hackrobat earns its slot.
Format Analysis

In Commander, Hackrobat fits narrow but real — Rakdos combat decks and aristocrats builds that want a creature doing double duty as a blocker deterrent and a life buffer will get the most from it. In Modern and Legacy, a 3/2 for three with a conditional ability doesn't clear the bar; those formats have faster, more efficient threats at every point on the curve. Pioneer is similarly hostile to cards that don't impact the board immediately or threaten to win a game. Hackrobat is a Commander card first, a casual-60 card second, and largely invisible everywhere competitive play is happening.

Price Context
Current price
$0.07 bulk tier
At $0.07, Hackrobat is deep bulk — you're picking it out of a commons box, not paying for it on a singles site. That price is stable for exactly the reason you'd expect: demand is low and supply is high, so don't expect movement in either direction.
