Gustcloak Savior lets you untap and remove any attacking creature you control from combat — no mana, no timing restriction beyond the declare-attackers step — which doubles as protection and a way to abuse enters-the-battlefield or exert triggers mid-swing. Five mana for a 3/4 flier that does this on demand is a real rate, and the effect is genuinely difficult to replicate.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Gustcloak Savior is legal in Commander, Legacy, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, but it only earns a slot in Commander. Legacy and Vintage don't want a five-mana creature with no immediate board impact, and the effect — powerful as it is in a multiplayer context — doesn't map onto those formats' threat density. In Commander, the Savior fits any white deck that attacks with value creatures: it protects your best attacker from combat trades, rescues a creature from a blocked-and-dead situation, and can reset exert or attack triggers turn after turn. The floor is a 3/4 flier that keeps your best creature alive; the ceiling is a repeatable engine in the right shell.

Price Context
Current price
$0.25 bulk tier
At $0.25, Gustcloak Savior is deep bulk — you're essentially getting it for free in any order. The price reflects low demand rather than low power, and there's no meaningful upside pressure to worry about; buy it for the effect, not the speculation.
