In Commander, Growth Cycle earns its slot in counter-focused shells where the incidental draw matters as much as the buff — two mana at instant speed means you can hold up interaction and cycle this at end of turn without losing tempo. In Pauper, where the card pool is shallow and every cantrip gets scrutinized, Growth Cycle is a legitimate option in green stompy or +1/+1 counter synergy lists. Modern and Pioneer have enough redundancy in both the pump and draw categories that Growth Cycle rarely makes the cut outside of highly specific synergy builds. Legacy and Vintage don't want it — the efficiency bar there is too high for a two-mana sorcery-equivalent.
