Grind // Dust puts -1/-1 counters on multiple creatures for two mana, then offers a second mode that exiles all creatures with -1/-1 counters on them for four mana — together that's a two-card board wipe stapled onto one. The catch is that both halves require black and white pips, so this card belongs exclusively in Orzhov or four-plus color decks.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |

| modern | legal |
| pioneer | legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Commander is where Grind // Dust earns its slot — the two-spell structure plays well across a long game, letting you bank the Grind half on a troublesome creature early and follow with Dust as a pseudo-wipe once the board fills out. In Modern and Pioneer it's too slow and too color-intensive to compete with unconditional removal, and the counter-synergy payoff rarely materializes in a 20-life format where games end before you can stage the combo. Legacy has access to better options at every point on the curve. Oathbreaker mirrors the Commander read: if your signature spell or planeswalker plan wants incremental attrition, this two-for-one is worth the deck slot.

Price Context
Current price
$0.15 bulk tier
At $0.15, Grind // Dust is deep bulk — you're paying for cardboard, not scarcity. The price is stable because supply is wide and demand is niche, so don't expect movement in either direction.
