Greenbelt Radical card art
Greenbelt Radical enters with a +1/+1 counter on each creature you control that has a counter on it — immediate, no-trigger-required board-wide upgrades. The ask is two mana in green, and Yarus, Roar of the Old Gods decks consider that a bargain given how many creatures are already stacked with counters before it lands.

Yarus, Roar of the Old Gods

Yarus, Roar of the Old Gods

68.6% of decks · synergy 0.68

Kaust, Eyes of the Glade

Kaust, Eyes of the Glade

In Commander, Greenbelt Radical is a legitimate role-player in any green deck that proliferates, stacks counters on multiple creatures, or runs a +1/+1 counter synergy theme — the enter-the-battlefield trigger scales with board size in a way that few two-mana spells can match. Competitive constructed formats are a different story: Modern and Pioneer have faster clocks and tighter redundancy requirements, and Greenbelt Radical's payoff depends too heavily on having several countered creatures in play simultaneously to fit the tempo expectations of those formats. Standard is its most plausible non-Commander home, particularly in dedicated counter synergy shells where the density of countered creatures is high enough to make the enter trigger consistently relevant. Legacy and Vintage are non-starters — the effect doesn't come close to the power bar those formats set.

Price Context

Current price

$0.28 bulk tier

At $0.28, Greenbelt Radical is bulk, and the price reflects its narrow home in counter-synergy Commander decks rather than any broad constructed demand. It's a safe pickup at this price — bulk rares with a specific Commander niche tend to stay flat rather than crater further.
