Graven Lore is a Commander card through and through — the five-mana floor that makes it awkward in faster formats is barely a speed bump in a 40-life, multiplayer game where snow permanents accumulate naturally. In Legacy, Modern, and Pioneer it's simply too slow and too conditional; Archmage's Charm and Treasure Cruise fill the same role faster with no setup requirement. Oathbreaker is the one non-Commander 60-card variant where it can show up, but only in dedicated snow builds. Stick to Commander, specifically any snow-matters shell, and Graven Lore reliably overperforms its mana cost.
