Gravel-Hide Goblin is a two-mana 2/1 that can pump itself to a 5/4 by sacrificing a land — solid stats in a pinch, but the cost is a permanent resource that doesn't come back. It's a role-player in dedicated Goblin or sacrifice shells, not a card you build around.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
In Commander, Gravel-Hide Goblin earns a slot almost exclusively in Goblin tribal decks where the creature type matters more than the ability — the land-sacrifice activation rarely fires because tempo losses are punishing in a four-player game. Pauper is its best home: aggressive red strategies can use the pump to push through a stalled board, and at common the rate is competitive with what the format offers. In Modern and Pioneer the competition at two mana is steep enough that Gravel-Hide Goblin won't make the cut outside of fringe Goblin tribal lists, and even there it's fighting for a slot. Legacy and Vintage have no interest.

Price Context
Current price
$0.07 bulk tier
At $0.07, Gravel-Hide Goblin is deep bulk — the kind of card you pull from a common box without a second thought. There's no pressure to buy in and no reason to expect the price to move; it fills a tribal headcount role that never creates demand spikes.
